About the Club

Programming is considered one of the most essential and effective fields of computers. Also, due to the advanced improvement in information technology, programming has become an important aspect for students majoring in computers or other fields. Therefore, the Programming Club was established under the umbrella of the Student Activity Unit at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at King Abdulaziz University to benefit the faculty students who come from diverse degree levels such as undergraduate, master, and doctoral programs. Furthermore, the Programming Club is concerned with consolidating the concepts of programming languages to enrich the faculty’s graduate students with all the important concepts related to programming languages .

The objectives of the programming club can be summarized in the following points:

  • Introducing common programming languages and their uses.
  • Improving the quality of the faculty students in programming skills.
  • Using programming languages for multiple purposes includes new disciplines such as artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity.
  • Preparing students to attend and win local, regional or international programming competitions.
  • Preparing the graduate students for the job market.

Club Interests

The club should establish a scientific and practical environment to improve the skills of those who belong to the club through lectures and organized workshops, for example:

  • What is programming?
  • What are the common programming languages , and what are they used for?
  • How can you learn programming languages?
  • How can you be professional in programming?
  • Holding meetings to discuss programming challenges and the job market’s needs.
  • Holding a set of discussions about using programming applications in new fields to establish real valuable projects.

In addition, the club works to provide a scientific environment to enable students to use programming in their future projects and researches. Also, the club will conduct one competition (at least) during the academic year and train students (female and male) to join local, or regional or international competitions and assist them in carrying out their researches within the club’s interests.
