About the Program
The Department of Information Systems offers an academic program to obtain the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Computer Information Systems) through the thesis and the study of some courses. The aim of the program is to provide students with specialized academic knowledge in the fields of information systems, to develop the students’ skills of technical applied information systems in the industrial fields in accordance with modern international trends, to develop their academic, scientific and research skills and to develop their thinking skills to innovate advanced technical solutions. Specialized and qualified to work in the various technical fields of information systems. By introducing them to the latest developments and technologies in the fields of advanced Computer Information Systems, Data Science and Analytic, Information Security, Cyber Security and Digital Forensic, Big Data, Advanced Electronic Systems, as well as Intelligent Decision Support Systems.

Provide graduate students with advanced research, technical, and
scientific skills to develop innovative solutions and undertake high-
quality research in various sub-disciplines of information systems,
fulfilling the needs of academia, industry, and broader society.

Regulations for Admission to the program of Doctor of Philosophy in Information Systems.
In addition to the General Admission Regulations put by Deanship of Graduate Studies , the following requirements should be satisfied:
Specialization required
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Decision Support Systems, or Management Information Systems (Computer)
Required GPA
Minimum of 'Very Good': 30%
University general tests for graduates
Score not less than 65
English test
IELTS score of 5 or its equivalent.
Employer's approval
Necessary for admission.
Selection criteria
Criteria are as follow:
- University General Tests for Graduates: A minimum score of 65 is required: 20%
- Entry Test/Written Exam by the department: 30%
- Research potential: 20%, it is assessed by the department based on:
- Statement of purpose provided by the applicant.
- Research contributions for the applicant (publication of research, participation in scientific research events, or research contributions in the program specialization).
- Applicants who obtained at least 75% of the above criteria are accepted according to the admissions capacity.
