About the Program
The Department of Computer Science offers an academic program for earning a doctor of philosophy degree(in Computer Science) through conducting research that ends in writing a dissertation and studying some courses. The program aims at: providing scientific cadres in the suggested specialisation in order to achieve self-sufficiency in the future, Enriching and entrenching current scientific concepts through doing studies and research that seek to promote the theoretical and practical knowledge by following scientific style in research and technology. The program also aims to develop the applied skills of the graduates of the Computer Science Department who are working in different fields (academic / industrial / services) by familiarizing them with the latest developments and techniques in the field of advanced computer science, computer networks and software engineering.

Provide graduate students with substantial research, technical, and scientific capabilities to
develop innovative solutions and conduct research of exceptional quality in sub-disciplines of
Computer Science to address the demand in academia, industry, and society.

propose and explain solutions in at least one of the computer science sub-disciplines.

Regulations for Admission to the program of Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science
In addition to the General Admission Regulations put by Deanship of Graduate Studies, the following requirements should be satisfied:
Specialization required
Bachelor degree from Scientific college, engineering and have master degree specialized in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Information Systems from any computing college.
University general tests for graduates
Score not less than 65
English test
TOEFL 500 or equivalent
Employer's approval
Partially required
Selection criteria
Criteria are as follow:
- University general tests for post graduate 30%, minimum score should not be less than 65
- Written exam in the department 40%
- Research potential of the applicant 30%, and is estimated by the scientific section against:
- The objective of the study is to be submitted in writing by the applicant (Statement purpose)
- Research contributions for the applicant (publication of research, participation in scientific research events, or research contributions in the program specialization).
- Those who obtained at least 70% of the above criteria are accepted according to the available number of admissions.
