About the Club
In the midst of rapid technological development in the world and the proliferation of threats and cyber attacks around us in an era where most of our information and important data was stored in computers; awareness of ways and means to protect these devices and data is very important for everyone who uses these technologies,As the risks of penetration of these devices are very large and harm the interests of the individual and the community as a whole, and therefore it is necessary to raise awareness of these risks and to raise awareness of information security by specialists in technology users in general, and the rehabilitation of cadres and capabilities in this area of students and students In the field of computer and technology in particular.
Accordingly, the Cybersecurity Club was established at the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology at King AbdulAziz University as a proposed and different entity from this framework with its strategic vision aimed at increasing awareness of the field of electronic protection and securing the technical community in this regard. The club aspires to be a source of science, knowledge and innovation in the field of information security, which seeks to leadership on the level of the Gulf and the Arab world, with positive outcomes of benefit to society.
Message
To develop student competencies in information security, to prepare those interested in the labor market and to spread the culture of information security among the users of technology in the community.
Objectives
- Promote the principle of protection against cybercrime and dealing with Internet users, computers and smart phones through awareness of the field of information security and ways to preserve data safely.
- Correcting the concept of information security in the minds of the social groups and highlighting its importance in our time.
- Preparing cadres and competencies of the students of the college in the field of information security in various branches, and qualifying them for the needs of the labor market in this field through the preparation and submission of specialized courses for those who have a passion for information security
Activities
- The establishment of activities and seminars and lectures awareness of electronic protection, which aims to awareness and reduce the cyber crimes that are exposed to various groups of society.
- Host prominent figures in information security to deliver special lectures on aspects of information security, such as digital criminal investigation and hacking testing.
- Provide specialized courses in information security that benefit students interested in the field and make them competent individuals have the ability to deal with the threats of electronic and prepare them for the labor market.
- Establishing a scientific library containing educational and informative books on information security and hacking tests in Arabic and English.
- Conducting information security competitions (CTF) between students of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology.
- Participation and representation of the college in international competitions specialized in information security.
