Data Science Club

About the Club

It is a club under the umbrella of the Student Activity Unit at King Abdulaziz University's Faculty of Computing and Information Technology to benefit undergraduate and graduate students, i.e., bachelor's, master's and doctoral. In addition, enriching the college's alumni with current information related to data science and related programs.

Goals

  • Raising awareness about data science and its uses.
  • Correcting some concepts about data exploration and data science.
  • Work to raise the level of knowledge of the university students and enable them to obtain professional degrees in data science.
  • Raising the students competence to attend conferences in the field of data science.
  • Create a digital data hub.

Club Interests

The club is concerned with providing a scientific and practical environment for the development of cognitive and practical skills for the academic community through lectures and workshops related to data science and its departments, for example:

  • What is data science?
  • How to use tools to analyze data?
  • Hold meetings to talk about data science challenges and employment opportunities.
  • Hold a series of discussions on data science and turn some of them into projects on the ground.

In addition, the club provides a scientific environment to enable affiliated students to collect data that can be used for their future projects and research. The club will conduct at least three competitions during the school year, in addition to training the club members to become more skilled to compete in local, regional and international competitions and help them do their research within the club's interests.
