About Cisco Academy

A memorandum of understanding was signed between King Abdulaziz University (KAU) represented by the Faculty of Computing Information Technology (FCIT) and Cisco Networks with expertise in the areas of networking and information technology since 2012 and this partnership was characterized by success and effectiveness. The laboratories of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology are distinguished because they contain the latest networking devices and equipment from Cisco.

Why Cisco Academy

The partnership between the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology and the Cisco Networking Academy, has enabled the Faculty of Computing to provide comprehensive solutions in addition to helping students develop the basic skills needed for information and communication technology to design, build and manage networks in the 21st century, along with the professional skills students have acquired such as problem solving, Cooperation, and critical thinking.

The Granted Certificates

First Course : Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching – CCNA-R&S
this course is designed (Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA-R&S)) by Cisco Networking Academy for beginners students looking for jobs in the ICT industry we hope to gain prerequisite requirements for pursuing more specialized skills in the ICT.(CCNA-R&S) provides integrated and comprehensive coverage of networking topics, and trains the trainee from basic applications to advanced applications and services, while providing practical training opportunities, gaining practical experience and developing professional skills.

  • CCNA Level 1: Principles of Computer Networking
  • CCNA Level 2: Routers Technology
  • CCNA Level 3: Routing and Switching

Second course : Cisco Certified Network Associate Security – CCNA – Security
The Cisco Networking Academy offers a training course that equips individuals who want to enhance their skills in how to protect and maintain networks, and this is the second step for individuals who want to enhance their skills and help meet the growing demand for network security professionals. The curriculum provides an introduction to the basic security concepts and skills needed to install network devices, solve problems, and monitor network devices to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data and devices.

Third Course : IT Basics (IT Essentials)
Cisco has designed a course in the basics of information technology as a curriculum for university students who want to pursue careers in the field of information technology and learn how computers work, how to assemble computers, and how to troubleshoot hardware and software problems. The ITE 5.0 course curriculum helps students prepare for exams  (CompTIA A +) No. (220-801) and (220-802). Whereas, CompTIA A + 220-801 covers the basics of computer technology, installation and configuration of computers, laptops, related devices, and basic networks. The CompTIA A + 220-802 test covers the skills needed to install and configure operating systems for computers and define their accessories, as well as configure common features such as network connectivity and email for mobile operating systems (Android) and (Apple).
